Compliance Manager @Affirm

Overview

The Compliance Manager role at Affirm involves leading the UK Compliance function, specifically focusing on regulatory compliance and privacy oversight. The position supports the company's mission to deliver honest financial products and is part of a dedicated team combining legal and compliance expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the operational lead for UK privacy compliance matters and act as the Data Protection Officer (DPO) for the UK entity.
• Oversee UK privacy governance activities, including Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and incident governance.
• Lead the regulatory input for the firm's Management Information (MI) dashboard for Privacy.
• Develop the firm's Privacy Compliance Monitoring Programme (CMP) to align with the regulatory landscape.
• Support the completion of the firm's Enterprise wide compliance risk assessment and control inventory.
• Translate legal and regulatory requirements into compliance standards and governance routines.
• Provide second-line oversight of first-line control environments, including review and escalation of issues.
• Prepare management reporting and governance materials for senior leadership.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, privacy compliance, or related fields.
• Strong understanding of UK privacy and regulatory compliance expectations, including UK GDPR.
• Experience within a second-line of defence model, with governance and oversight capabilities.
• Ability to translate legal requirements into policies and governance routines.
• Strong cross-functional partnership skills and the ability to manage sensitive regulatory matters.
• Experience preparing management reporting for senior stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience; relevant certifications preferred.
