    🧩 Role Overview

    The Advocacy and Community Liaison Officer will:

    • Strengthen community engagement and participation
    • Support advocacy strategies and policy influence
    • Act as a link between IRC, communities, and government stakeholders
    • Ensure community voices inform programming and decision-making

    🔑 Key Responsibilities

    📌 Program & Strategy

    • Implement advocacy and stakeholder engagement strategies
    • Facilitate engagement with government, CSOs, and communities
    • Document community needs and program impact

    📣 Advocacy & Communication

    • Develop advocacy briefs, reports, and communication materials
    • Support donor engagement and visibility efforts
    • Monitor humanitarian and policy developments

    🤝 Coordination & Representation

    • Represent IRC in meetings and stakeholder forums
    • Maintain relationships with partners, donors, and community leaders
    • Organize advocacy events and engagement activities

    📊 Research & Analysis

    • Conduct stakeholder mapping and contextual analysis
    • Collect data, stories, and evidence for advocacy
    • Support reporting and learning documentation

    🎓 Requirements

    📚 Education

    • Bachelor’s degree in: Political Science, IR, Communication, Development Studies, Law, or related field
    • Master’s degree = advantage

    💼 Experience

    • 3–5 years in advocacy, community engagement, or humanitarian work
    • Experience in Northeast/Northwest Nigeria preferred

    🛠️ Skills

    • Strong communication & report writing
    • Stakeholder engagement & coordination
    • Knowledge of humanitarian principles & accountability
    • Analytical and problem-solving skills

    🌐 Languages

    • Fluent in English
    • Hausa/Kanuri = added advantage

    💻 Tech

    • Microsoft Office proficiency
    • Digital communication & reporting tools
