    Job Description

    Overview

    LEEP (Lead Elimination of Childhood Lead Poisoning) is seeking a strategic Head of People to lead its culture, people systems, and talent development efforts. This role is crucial for shaping and executing the organization’s people strategy to support rapid growth and scale impact in its mission to eliminate childhood lead poisoning worldwide.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Design and execute a comprehensive global People Strategy aligned with LEEP’s mission, growth objectives, and organizational culture.
    • Act as a trusted advisor to the COO and senior leadership on organizational development, workforce planning, culture, and change management.
    • Lead and oversee the People team, including HR staff, agencies, and external consultants.
    • Ensure that all HR initiatives support a high-performing, inclusive, and mission-driven organization.
    • Drive the global recruitment strategy, ensuring a seamless candidate experience.
    • Develop and oversee onboarding and offboarding processes.
    • Lead succession planning and strategies for long-term workforce development.
    • Implement talent retention programs.
    • Oversee performance appraisal systems.
    • Support managers and staff through coaching, training, and development initiatives.
    • Design and deliver learning and development programs.
    • Foster a strong organizational culture rooted in LEEP’s values.
    • Lead initiatives that promote employee engagement, inclusion, and well-being.
    • Organize and oversee annual team retreats, cultural events, and internal communication strategies.
    • Conduct organizational health surveys, analyze feedback, and implement strategic responses to improve overall engagement.
    • Oversee HR systems, including HRIS, record-keeping, and payroll processes across multiple jurisdictions.
    • Ensure compliance with local employment laws and regulations in all operating regions.
    • Maintain clear, accessible, and up-to-date organizational policies, handbooks, and guidelines.
    • Manage sensitive HR issues confidentially.
    • Play an active role in leadership discussions, advocating for a people-first approach.
    • Exercise excellent judgment in handling complex situations.
    • Support the organization’s diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.

    Requirements

    • Deep commitment to LEEP’s mission to eliminate childhood lead poisoning.
    • Proven ability to develop and execute comprehensive HR strategies in a fast-growing organization.
    • Demonstrated excellence in leading HR teams, coaching, and supporting organizational growth.
    • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
    • Experience managing HR functions across multiple countries and cultures is highly advantageous.
    • Ability to lead through change, influence stakeholders, and navigate ambiguity.
    • Exceptional organizational and operational skills.
    • Minimum of five years in HR, operations, or organizational strategy, preferably in international or non-profit settings.
    • Experience working in low- and middle-income countries is a plus.
