    Job Opportunity at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC)

    The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) is seeking a highly meticulous, motivated, and analytical Researcher to contribute to its policy research initiatives.

    Job Title: Researcher
    Location: APEC Secretariat, Singapore
    Contract Type: Entry-level, local package
    Remuneration: Starting from S$4,600/month plus medical and dental benefits
    Application Deadline: 6 March 2026

    Reporting to Senior Analysts and/or Analysts, the successful candidate will conduct rigorous quantitative and qualitative research on diverse topics related to the APEC region’s economic development.


    About APEC and PSU

    The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) is a regional economic forum established in 1989 to foster economic growth, cooperation, and development across the Asia-Pacific region.

    Guided by the Putrajaya Vision 2040, APEC aims to build an open, dynamic, resilient, and peaceful community for the prosperity of all.

    Based in Singapore, the APEC Policy Support Unit (PSU) serves as the research and analysis arm, providing high-quality policy research, analytical capacity, and support to APEC members and fora to advance regional economic integration and sustainable development.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Collect, clean, and analyze economic and policy-related data on APEC economies
    • Conduct high-quality research on topics such as macroeconomics, trade, investment, and development indicators
    • Interpret data rigorously, extract key insights, and present findings clearly through reports and presentations

    • Contribute to flagship publications and regional policy discussions
    • Support the preparation of policy reports, briefings, and presentations for high-level audiences

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Economics or related field (minimum)
    • At least 2 years of relevant experience in economic research or analysis (exceptionally qualified fresh graduates will be considered)
    • Strong quantitative skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

    • Experience with statistical software (e.g., Stata, R) and advanced econometrics is advantageous
    • Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills in English
    • Ability to work independently, multitask, and adapt to changing needs

    • Demonstrates intellectual curiosity, initiative, and a team-oriented mindset
    • Must be from one of the 21 APEC member economies
