The Crop Trust is seeking a Global Engagement Intern for a 5‑month internship supporting the Global Flagship Initiative for Food Security.

Location: Bonn, Germany
Contract Type: Internship (5 months)

TBased in Bonn, Germany, this internship offers practical experience in partnership building, outreach, resource mobilization, event support, and research within an international cooperation context. The role involves working with governments, UN agencies, development organizations, private sector actors, and civil society.
About the Global Flagship Initiative for Food Security
Launched at UNCCD COP16 in Riyadh in 2024, the Global Flagship Initiative is a coalition of over 90 development partners working collaboratively to promote SDG 2 – Zero Hunger.
The coalition focuses on three pillars: Broad Collaboration, Private Sector Mobilization, and Impact Delivery, supporting climate-smart, results-driven solutions globally.
Key Responsibilities
Partnerships & Outreach
- Identify and engage with partners across sectors and regions.
- Maintain contact databases and tracking tools.
- Prepare background notes, summaries, and follow-up materials for meetings.
- Support coordination on initiatives related to food security, climate, land restoration, and biodiversity.
Multilateral & Event Support
- Support participation in international events like UN Food Systems Summit, Rio Conventions, UN General Assembly.
- Assist with research, briefing materials, and logistical arrangements.
- Coordinate interactions with UN agencies and partner organizations.
Resource Mobilization
- Draft funding proposals and concept notes.
- Map potential donors and funding opportunities.
- Support follow-up activities with donors and development banks.
Research & Knowledge Sharing
- Conduct desk research on food security, climate policy, and development finance.
- Prepare presentations, notes, and internal briefings.
- Research potential partners and initiatives.
Team & Secretariat Support
- Assist with internal coordination, planning, and progress updates.
- Collaborate with the External Affairs and Programme teams for messaging consistency.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet one of the following at the time of application:
- Enrolled in a postgraduate degree program (e.g., Master’s or higher).
- Enrolled in the final year of a first university degree program (e.g., Bachelor’s).
- Recently graduated (within one year) and eligible to start the internship.
- Enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program.
