    This joint initiative connects emerging leaders from Africa and Europe to tackle real-world energy challenges and co-create solutions that respond to regional and global needs.

    The energy transition requires bold ideas and strong cross-continental collaboration.

    Now in its second edition, the Joint Africa–Europe Energy Transition Programme brings together students, young professionals, researchers, and practitioners working in renewable energy, climate, and sustainability.

    About the Africa–Europe Youth Collaboration Programme

    This initiative is designed to:

    • Strengthen collaboration between Africa and Europe on energy transition
    • Foster mutual learning and cross-regional understanding
    • Promote innovative thinking in renewable energy and sustainability
    • Build a growing international network of emerging energy leaders

    Participants will explore both shared and region-specific challenges, examining how energy issues differ—and connect—across regions, from Nairobi to Berlin and beyond.

    Key Responsibilities

    As a selected participant, you will:

    • Partner with a peer from another continent (Africa or Europe)
    • Work in diverse, interdisciplinary pairs to ensure varied expertise and perspectives

    ⚡ Energy Transition Projects

    • Collaborate on joint research outputs such as:
      • Research papers
      • Policy analysis briefs
      • Blog articles
    • Focus on key energy transition topics including:
      • Renewable energy technologies
      • Climate policy
      • Sustainable development strategies
      • Community engagement
      • Case studies from Africa and Europe
