The Opportunity
This is an exciting and strategic opportunity for an experienced, creative, and collaborative communications professional to lead and elevate NetHope’s storytelling and outreach efforts.
The Communications Manager will play a central role in developing compelling narratives, increasing digital engagement, and expanding the organization’s reach. This role offers a chance to work at the intersection of technology, humanitarian aid, and international development, making a tangible difference in the lives of millions.
The successful candidate will be part of a vibrant, mission-driven team that values innovation, impact, and collaboration. They will be responsible for designing and executing campaigns that grow NetHope’s audience, enhance its brand presence, and support its global initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Audience Acquisition & Campaign Execution
- Develop and implement targeted digital marketing campaigns across email, social media, website, and paid media channels, utilizing tools such as Campaign Monitor, Metricool, Google Ads, and others.
- Manage and grow NetHope’s social media presence by creating engaging, mission-aligned content that increases reach, engagement, and conversions.
- Support and execute Google Ad Grants and paid media campaigns, collaborating with external consultants to maximize impact.
- Identify off-platform opportunities to boost visibility and engagement beyond traditional channels.
- Optimize content discoverability through SEO strategies, working with specialists to enhance organic traffic.
- Use analytics, A/B testing, and audience insights to refine strategies and improve performance.
2. Content Creation & Visual Design
- Write and edit compelling content that effectively translates complex program work and partnerships into engaging narratives for blogs, newsletters, social media, case studies, and other formats.
- Develop basic visual assets using tools like Canva, and coordinate larger creative projects with graphic designers and other external partners.
- Maintain and update web content, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
- Share impact stories collected from internal and external stakeholders to showcase NetHope’s work and outcomes.
3. Project Management & Internal Coordination
- Serve as a central point for communication requests, ensuring timely responses, tracking progress, and managing workflows using tools like Asana.
- Oversee the day-to-day management of content calendars, deadlines, and asset approvals.
- Support the organization’s internal systems, such as templates, SOPs, and content libraries, to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Collaborate with different teams to align messaging, coordinate campaigns, and ensure smooth execution of communications initiatives.
4. Communications Systems & Administration
- Maintain and optimize CRM lists, contact segments, and Salesforce integrations for targeted outreach.
- Manage inbound communication from social media, email, and other channels, ensuring timely and professional responses.
- Support the development of annual communications strategies, providing insights based on performance data.
- Stay informed about the latest trends in nonprofit marketing and digital communications, bringing innovative ideas to the team.
Qualifications & Personal Characteristics
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 4-6 years of proven experience in communications or marketing, ideally within the nonprofit or NGO sectors.
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing digital campaigns, growing audiences, and managing content across multiple channels.
- Familiarity with tools such as Salesforce, Asana, Google Analytics, Campaign Monitor, Canva, WordPress, and social media platforms.
- Experience with HTML, web design, or Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.

Reporting & Working Conditions
This position reports directly to the Director of Communications and works closely with various teams across the organization.
As a fully remote role, it requires a reliable internet connection and the ability to participate in virtual meetings across different time zones. There may be occasional travel (1-2 times per year) for NetHope events or strategic meetings.
NetHope embraces flexible schedules to support global team members, with a preference for candidates located within or able to work during Eastern Time Zone hours (US). Compensation is aligned with local market benchmarks, with a comprehensive benefits package governed by country-specific policies.
