The BIOFIN and BES-Net Intern will support both teams in their technical, management, and communication activities.

Background

The internship focuses on biodiversity finance and ecosystem services, under the BIOFIN and BES-Net initiatives.
UNDP emphasizes diversity, equity, and inclusion, and encourages applicants from marginalized populations.
Selected interns will be involved in global policy support, advocacy, and technical guidance on sustainable development and nature-based solutions.

Key Responsibilities

BIOFIN (80% time)

Research, analysis, and presentation of BIOFIN impact.
Assist in case studies, communications campaigns, and knowledge management tools.
Support events, webinars, meetings, and social media presence (Website, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn).
Monitor and maintain databases of news coverage and developments.

BES-Net (20% time)

Develop stories highlighting synergies between BES-Net and BIOFIN countries.
Assist with monthly newsletters and partner/expert articles.
Support collection of BES Solution Fund data for impact tracking.
Coordinate opportunities for collaboration between BIOFIN and BES-Net country offices.

Eligibility

Education:

Postgraduate (Master’s or higher) or final-year Bachelor’s in Finance, Economics, Communications, Social Studies, Environmental Studies, or related fields.
Recent graduates (within 1 year) also eligible.

Experience (preferred):

Prior work in national/international entities.
Knowledge of social media, content creation (e.g., Canva).
Understanding of finance, biodiversity, conservation, and ecosystems.

Language:

Fluent in English (required)
French (highly desirable)

Conditions

Stipend: UNDP may provide a monthly stipend.
Insurance: Interns must secure their own medical insurance.
Work Setup: In-person or remote; interns provide their own equipment for remote work.
