The BIOFIN and BES-Net Intern will support both teams in their technical, management, and communication activities.
Background
- The internship focuses on biodiversity finance and ecosystem services, under the BIOFIN and BES-Net initiatives.
- UNDP emphasizes diversity, equity, and inclusion, and encourages applicants from marginalized populations.
- Selected interns will be involved in global policy support, advocacy, and technical guidance on sustainable development and nature-based solutions.
Key Responsibilities
BIOFIN (80% time)
- Research, analysis, and presentation of BIOFIN impact.
- Assist in case studies, communications campaigns, and knowledge management tools.
- Support events, webinars, meetings, and social media presence (Website, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn).
- Monitor and maintain databases of news coverage and developments.
BES-Net (20% time)
- Develop stories highlighting synergies between BES-Net and BIOFIN countries.
- Assist with monthly newsletters and partner/expert articles.
- Support collection of BES Solution Fund data for impact tracking.
- Coordinate opportunities for collaboration between BIOFIN and BES-Net country offices.

Eligibility
Education:
- Postgraduate (Master’s or higher) or final-year Bachelor’s in Finance, Economics, Communications, Social Studies, Environmental Studies, or related fields.
- Recent graduates (within 1 year) also eligible.
Experience (preferred):
- Prior work in national/international entities.
- Knowledge of social media, content creation (e.g., Canva).
- Understanding of finance, biodiversity, conservation, and ecosystems.
Language:
- Fluent in English (required)
- French (highly desirable)
Conditions
- Stipend: UNDP may provide a monthly stipend.
- Insurance: Interns must secure their own medical insurance.
- Work Setup: In-person or remote; interns provide their own equipment for remote work.
