Overview
The Field Officer will support a multi-component project to improve routine immunization coverage in Kebbi State by deploying Mobile Immunization Teams across 16 Local Government Areas. The role reports to the Kebbi Routine Immunization State Program Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct project orientation for Field Officers and provide ongoing direct management.
- Serve as Field Officer for 1 Local Government Area.
- Develop and update microplans in collaboration with health facility staff and health officials.
- Support the Senior Program Manager in managing local partners responsible for Mobile Immunization Teams.
- Ensure appropriate selection, orientation, monitoring, and deployment schedules for Mobile Immunization Teams and Field Officers.
- Oversee the design and delivery of training for Mobile Immunization Teams in collaboration with local partners.
- Work with health facility staff on supportive supervision workplans and supervision activities.
- Oversee supportive supervision of Mobile Immunization Teams by Field Officers.
- Coordinate closely with Monitoring Evaluation and Learning officers and Advocacy Communications and Social Mobilization officers to align activities with Mobile Immunization Teams.
- Ensure accurate record keeping and reporting of project activities.
- Work with Advocacy Communications and Social Mobilization officers to track vaccine information trends and adapt messages and materials when needed.
- Consolidate feedback from Field Officers and Mobile Immunization Teams on communication materials and share with Advocacy Communications and Social Mobilization officers.
- Monitor vaccines and related supplies and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure adequacy.
- Work with Monitoring Evaluation and Learning officers and partners to review performance data and improve activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in public health or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in health service delivery, preferably in immunization service delivery.
- Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation of health programs.
- Experience managing teams.
- Ability to work collaboratively with health facility officials and staff.
- Interpersonal and communication skills.
- Facilitation skills.
- Organizational and multitasking skills.
- Professional proficiency in English.
- Willingness to travel within Kebbi State as required.
