    Job Description

    Overview

    Forest Peoples Programme (FPP) is seeking two Programme Assistants to provide essential administrative, logistical, and project coordination support for their work with Indigenous Peoples and forest peoples globally. These remote positions offer flexibility in working hours and collaboration with a diverse, international team.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support program development and management, including tracking activities, maintaining knowledge systems, and developing work plans.
    • Coordinate meetings and events, prepare agendas, take minutes, and arrange logistics for virtual and in-person activities.
    • Liaise with grant partners, donors, and stakeholders, assist in preparing agreements, and support communication efforts.
    • Provide financial and administrative support, including tracking expenditure, monitoring budgets, and assisting with financial reports and fundraising.
    • Support monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEAL) activities, including tracking impacts, compiling reports, and assisting with data collection.
    • Facilitate capacity-building initiatives and knowledge sharing for local partners and team members.
    • Undertake additional tasks such as assisting with travel arrangements and representing FPP at meetings.

    Requirements

    • University degree in a relevant field (social sciences, environmental studies, international development, etc.).
    • Experience working in the non-profit sector, ideally with an international focus.
    • Experience supporting project administration, logistics, and donor reporting.
    • Experience supporting financial management of grants and projects, including budgeting and monitoring.
    • Experience supporting meetings, events, and capacity-building activities.
    • Highly proficient in written and spoken English.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
    • Digital literacy, especially in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Ability and willingness to travel internationally (1-2 weeks per year).
    • Desirable: Experience with Indigenous Peoples, forest peoples, or in the global south; fluency in French, Spanish, or Bahasa Indonesia.
    • Personal Attributes: Highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented, sensitive, respectful, collaborative, flexible, and committed to FPP's mission.

    Benefits

    • Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 FTE (dependent on experience).
