Area Coordinator job with Malteser international

Overview

Malteser International is seeking an Area Coordinator to lead program implementation in Katsina State, Nigeria. The role involves providing leadership to field teams, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring effective delivery of interventions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead planning and timely implementation of project activities in line with objectives
• Oversee monitoring, reporting, quality assurance and donor compliance
• Monitor security and operational context and escalate critical issues to senior management
• Ensure compliance with finance, logistics, procurement and HR procedures
• Represent the organization in coordination meetings with government, UN and NGO partners
• Supervise field teams and strengthen performance and coordination
• Oversee area budgets and work with finance to ensure sound financial management

Requirements

• Master’s degree in social sciences, business or a technical field
• Minimum 5 years experience with an INGO in humanitarian or development settings
• Strong experience in project management, coordination and partnership management
• Proven team leadership and supervision skills
• Experience with budgets, security management and field operations
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Knowledge of Northwest Nigeria is an advantage
