ICRAF) Communications Internship 2026
Applications are now open for the Center for International Forestry Research / World Agroforestry (CIFOR-ICRAF) Communications Internship 2026!
Are you passionate about storytelling, science communication, and digital media? Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) and World Agroforestry (ICRAF) are offering an exciting Communications Internship opportunity in Central Africa.
The internship will support the visibility and communications activities of key regional projects, including the OFAC-CE, RESSAC, and PUDT initiatives.
This six-month internship offers practical, hands-on experience in communications within an international research organization working at the intersection of forests, climate, biodiversity, and sustainable landscapes.
Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) and World Agroforestry (ICRAF) envision a more equitable world where trees across all landscapes—from drylands to humid tropics—enhance both the environment and human well-being.
These non-profit scientific institutions generate and apply evidence to address some of the world’s most pressing challenges, including energy insecurity, climate change, and biodiversity loss.
With a combined experience of more than 65 years of research, CIFOR and ICRAF have built extensive knowledge on forests and trees outside forests in agricultural landscapes (agroforestry).
Through multidisciplinary research, partnerships, and policy engagement, the organizations aim to improve livelihoods while protecting and restoring ecosystems.
Both institutions are members of the CGIAR, a global research partnership dedicated to reducing poverty, improving food and nutrition security, and sustainably managing natural resources.
The Communications Intern will support the planning and implementation of project-related communications activities in Central Africa for the OFAC-CE, RESSAC, and PUDT projects.
The role aims to strengthen project visibility while providing the intern with practical experience in institutional and science communication within an international research environment.
