Led Program Supporting AI Solutions for Public Sector Innovation in Latin America & the Caribbean
The LAC AI Accelerator 2026 is now open for applications, inviting multidisciplinary teams across Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) to pilot high-impact artificial intelligence (AI) solutions for public sector transformation. Led by the World Bank, this initiative aims to help governments test, validate, and scale AI use cases that strengthen digital governance and public service delivery.
If your team is developing AI tools for government modernization, policy innovation, or operational efficiency in the region, this accelerator provides strategic support and global visibility.
The LAC AI Accelerator supports collaborative teams composed of members from:
Public institutions
Private sector organizations
Academic institutions
Civil society groups
The program focuses on AI solutions that deliver measurable improvements in public administration and governance across Latin America and the Caribbean.
Rather than scaling untested ideas, the accelerator emphasizes piloting, validation, and institutional readiness before broader implementation.
Selected AI use cases should aim to improve:
Digital government services
Public sector efficiency
Policy design and delivery systems
The accelerator encourages practical, implementable solutions that address real governance challenges in the region.
Participating teams benefit from:
AI readiness and institutional maturity assessment
Strategic and technical mentorship
Specialized AI training with a certificate from the World Bank Group
Visibility at the World Bank Digital Summit
These benefits help teams refine their solutions while strengthening institutional capacity for responsible AI deployment.
Teams must meet the following conditions:
Secure a commitment letter from a public digital authority
Provide their own technological infrastructure
Submit a detailed AI use case proposal
Complete a privacy consent form
The institutional commitment letter is a mandatory requirement, ensuring alignment with public sector priorities.
Applications are open through March 16, 2026.
