    Job Description

    Overview

    Development Exchange Centre (DEC) is hiring for two positions: Programme Officer Environment and Project Officer Microfinance. DEC is a women-focused social enterprise aiming to improve women's lives through sustainable development programs.

    Position 1: Programme Officer Environment

    Key Responsibilities

    • Mobilize communities on environmental sustainability and climate adaptation initiatives
    • Establish Environmental Committees in schools and communities
    • Implement tree planting, waste management, and waste to wealth initiatives
    • Facilitate WASH infrastructure support and conduct Village Level Operation and Maintenance training
    • Promote sanitation campaigns and clean cooking energy solutions
    • Conduct baseline assessments, monitoring visits, and technical reporting
    • Support early warning systems and climate resilience mechanisms

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree or HND in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Agriculture, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Health, or related field
    • 3 to 5 years relevant experience in environmental or WASH programming
    • Strong experience in community mobilization
    • Excellent facilitation, monitoring, and reporting skills
    • Willingness to travel to rural communities

    Position 2: Project Officer Microfinance

    Key Responsibilities

    • Plan and oversee end-to-end implementation of microfinance projects
    • Define scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines
    • Monitor project progress and manage risks
    • Ensure delivery within budget and quality standards
    • Maintain comprehensive project documentation
    • Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders
    • Report project performance to management and donor partners
    • Support strategic planning and continuous improvement

    Requirements

    • Minimum of First Degree or HND
    • 3 to 5 years experience in project management, preferably in microfinance, banking, or financial services
    • Professional certifications such as PMP, ITIL, Agile, or Scrum are an advantage
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools
