The Truist Foundation is committed to building stronger communities through strategic philanthropy and partnerships. By investing in innovative nonprofit organisations, the Foundation supports programs and initiatives that create greater opportunity for adults—especially in the areas of economic mobility and small business development.
If your organisation is working to empower communities through sustainable, high-impact initiatives, the Truist Foundation grant program may be a valuable funding opportunity.
The Truist Foundation prioritises projects and programs that align with two key pillars:
The Foundation supports initiatives that help adults gain skills, training, and access to opportunities that improve their economic outcomes and long-term financial stability.
Funding is available for programs that help small businesses start, grow, and thrive—especially those that contribute to community development and job creation.
The Foundation focuses on sustainable, one-time investments rather than ongoing operational expenses. Examples of eligible funding needs include:
Launch of new programs
Curriculum development or expansion
Equipment required to deliver programs
Capital needs that directly support program delivery
Capital campaign requests may be eligible if:
The project aligns with Truist Foundation’s mission and priorities
At least 60% of the fundraising goal has already been secured through donations and pledges
The Truist Foundation offers three annual grant cycles:
March 31 → Applicants notified in July
July 31 → Applicants notified in November
November 30 → Applicants notified in April
Organisations are encouraged to plan their applications accordingly to align with these review periods.
By partnering with the Truist Foundation, organisations gain:
