    Job Description

    Overview

    The Private Equity Stakeholder Project (PESP) is hiring a Climate Director, a remote, full-time leadership position focused on challenging private equity’s role in the climate crisis by leading research, strategy, and campaign efforts.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead PESP’s corporate accountability work in the energy and fossil fuel sectors.
    • Identify pathways for systemic reform in private equity investment practices.
    • Center environmental justice and frontline community voices.
    • Supervise and mentor multiple research and campaign staff.
    • Strengthen internal research, advocacy, and data capacity.
    • Oversee sophisticated research initiatives, including managing workflows, developing datasets, analyzing impact data, and producing public reports.
    • Design and execute strategic campaigns targeting private asset managers.
    • Build partnerships with environmental justice organizations, frontline community groups, institutional investors, and climate coalitions.
    • Report directly to the Executive Director.

    Requirements

    • 10+ years in strategic research and/or advocacy campaigning.
    • Proven leadership experience managing teams.
    • Demonstrated success in environmental justice or climate campaigns.
    • Experience developing and executing campaign strategies.
    • Hands-on experience with large datasets, data analysis, Airtable or SQL, R or Python, and data visualization tools.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
    • Experience engaging investors, policymakers, media, labor unions, and community-based organizations.
    • Strong understanding of financial advocacy within climate movements.
    • Deep commitment to social, economic, and climate justice.
