    Job Description

    Overview

    The Transnational Centre for Just Transitions in Energy, Climate and Sustainability (TRAJECTS) is offering nine fully funded PhD scholarships for the 2026–2030 academic cycle, focusing on socially just transitions in energy, climate policy, and sustainability.

    Research Focus Areas

    The scholarship supports doctoral research in areas such as:

    • Climate change mitigation and fossil fuel phase-out
    • Integration of renewable energy systems
    • Socio-ecological transitions in critical sectors

    Independent research ideas aligned with TRAJECTS’ objectives are also welcome.

    Scholarship Benefits

    • Monthly stipend of approximately €1,300–€1,400
    • Mobility funding for research visits

    Note: Tuition fees are not covered.

    Application Requirements

    • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
    • PhD research exposé or pre-proposal (3–6 pages)
    • Motivation letter (1 page)
    • One academic recommendation letter
    • Proof of completed academic studies (Master’s degree transcript or certificate)

    Optional supporting documents include certificates of relevant work experience, training programmes, internships, language proficiency, proof of PhD enrolment, and self-declaration for underrepresented groups.
