Overview
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a National Consultant specializing in Gender Equality, Social Inclusion (GESI), and Social Norms Transformative Programming to support its Security and Justice Programme in Nairobi, Kenya, with travel to Somalia. This six-month consultancy may extend up to eleven months.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance and strategic support in GESI and social norms transformation.
- Strengthen the implementation of transformative approaches in program activities.
- Design and deliver training programs for staff and beneficiaries on GESI and social norms transformation.
- Support adaptive program management and provide technical recommendations based on MERL findings.
- Build collaborative networks with government institutions, development partners, and civil society actors.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in Gender Studies, International Relations, Political Science, Security Management, Development Studies, Behaviour Change Communications for Development, Law, or related fields.
- At least five years of relevant professional experience in technical advisory or program roles focusing on gender equality, social inclusion, gender-based violence prevention/response, and social norms transformation.
- Experience in designing and implementing gender-transformative approaches and social norms/behavior change communication programs.
- Experience working in fragile or conflict-affected contexts is desirable.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required.
