    Job Description

    Overview

    The Plant Assistant Safety Manager supports the implementation and continuous improvement of workplace health and safety programs, ensuring compliance with regulations and promoting a proactive safety culture at Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support the implementation of plant-wide safety policies, procedures, plans, and programs.
    • Assist in the development and review of Job Hazard Analyses and risk assessments.
    • Coordinate the activities of plant safety specialists.
    • Schedule and execute contractor forums and engagement activities.
    • Support regulatory inspections and internal/external audits.
    • Maintain accurate safety documentation and ensure the Occupational Health and Safety Management System aligns with ISO 45001.
    • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, preparing reports with corrective actions.
    • Track closure of safety actions and monitor their effectiveness.
    • Coordinate and deliver safety inductions and refresher training programs.
    • Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings, and promote safety awareness campaigns.
    • Assist in developing and maintaining emergency response plans and coordinating drills.
    • Maintain safety statistics and prepare monthly safety reports.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives, internal safety audits, and management safety walks.
    • Support the development of OHS objectives and communicate them to stakeholders.
    • Support root cause analysis of incidents and implement preventive measures.

    Requirements

    • BA, BSc, or HND in Engineering, Sciences, or a related field.
    • Professional safety certification (NEBOSH, IOSH, or OSHA) is required. Membership of ISPON is an added advantage.
    • 2-5 years of experience in industrial or manufacturing safety.
    • Experience as a Safety Officer within FMCG or a related industry.
    • Experience in plant or factory operations is preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
    • Risk assessment and hazard identification skills.
    • Incident investigation skills.
