Overview

Tap Nitiative is hiring a full-time, on-site Human Rights Officer in Abuja to promote human rights, monitor adherence to standards, and advocate for democracy and gender equality.

Key Responsibilities

• Promote awareness and understanding of human rights issues.
• Monitor adherence to international human rights standards.
• Advocate for democracy and gender equality.
• Assess and report on violations related to human rights, rule of law, and social justice.
• Work closely with stakeholders to advance initiatives supporting underserved communities.

Requirements

• Strong ability to litigate and average understanding of strategic litigation.
• Good knowledge and understanding of the operations of African Regional Courts.
• Strong understanding of International Human Rights frameworks and principles.
• Expertise in Human Rights, Rule of Law, and related advocacy.
• Knowledge and experience in Gender Equality and Democracy principles.
• Excellent analytical, research, and report-writing skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency in project management and the ability to develop and implement programs effectively.
• Advanced degree in Human Rights, Law, International Relations, or a related field.
• Experience in non-governmental organizations or similar environments is advantageous.
