Overview
The Vanier Institute of the Family offers travel funding to support the participation of Master’s, Doctoral students, and Postdoctoral fellows in conferences, workshops, and academic courses that contribute to family science knowledge exchange. This funding is designed to strengthen research engagement and promote the sharing of insights related to family diversity and wellbeing in Canada.

Requirements
- Master’s students

- Must demonstrate active participation in the event (oral presentations, poster presentations, roundtable discussions, breakout session facilitation, attending academic workshops or specialized courses).
- Research or academic engagement must relate to family diversities and wellbeing in Canada.
Benefits
- Up to $750 in travel funding to cover transportation, accommodation, meals, and registration fees.
- Funding exceeding $750 may be possible in exceptional circumstances with strong justification.
How to Apply
Complete the online Travel Funding Form for Master’s and Doctoral Students and Postdoctoral Fellows. Submit supporting documentation confirming participation in the selected event (e.g., conference acceptance letters, workshop/course registration confirmation, proof of payment).

Applications for the 2026 funding cycle are now open. Decisions are provided within 12 business days of receipt.
