Overview

COOPI – Cooperazione Internazionale is hiring a Rural Engineer to design and implement rural infrastructure projects that support agricultural development and improve livelihoods in Potiskum, Yobe State, Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and supervise rural infrastructure such as water systems, irrigation structures, feeder roads, and market stalls.
• Assess and rehabilitate boreholes, wells, and small-scale irrigation systems.
• Develop water harvesting systems to address drought challenges.
• Construct soil erosion control structures to restore degraded farmland.
• Supervise construction of community assets such as storage facilities and grinding mills.
• Rehabilitate feeder roads and bridges to improve market access.
• Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs), designs, and tender documents.
• Monitor contractors to ensure quality and safety standards.
• Coordinate with government agencies, NGOs, and humanitarian partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in rural engineering or infrastructure development.
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles and project management.
• Proficiency in engineering software and Microsoft Office tools.
