The 1st Open Call for the Financial Support Program is now open, offering funding to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that want to leverage downstream space technologies to create environmentally sustainable and circular solutions. This initiative empowers companies to integrate Earth Observation (EO), remote sensing, and satellite navigation data into innovative processes, services, or products that reduce environmental impact.
This Financial Support Program provides funding for SMEs to contract External Service Providers who can help design, develop, or implement space-enabled green solutions. These solutions can either:
Improve the company’s own internal operations
Deliver environmental benefits to customers and end users
Optimizing internal processes to reduce waste, emissions, or resource consumption
Developing products or services for environmental monitoring and resource management
Projects can range from early-stage ideas to fully developed solutions.
Total Budget: €1,250,000
Number of SMEs Supported: 35
Maximum Funding per SME: €50,000
This Open Call is designed for SMEs that:
Are based in EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries
Can demonstrate potential to use downstream space data (e.g., EO, remote sensing, satellite navigation) to reduce environmental impact
Applicants must meet the EU SME definition:
Fewer than 250 employees
Annual turnover not exceeding €50 million OR balance sheet total not exceeding €43 million
The program gives special attention to solutions that focus on:
Circularity, resource efficiency, and waste management
Environmentally responsible management of raw materials
Advanced environmental monitoring solutions

January 2026: Open Call launch
February 2026: First cut-off
March 2026: Final application deadline
April 2026: Evaluation and selection of first batch of winners
Following months: Selection of second batch and project implementation
Up to 6 months after signing: Project implementation period
Final stage: Review and voucher payment
