The incumbent will oversee a portfolio of complex initiatives, managing resources, schedules, budgets, and stakeholder expectations to ensure the timely and successful delivery of projects that leverage technology for humanitarian impact.
The Project Manager will serve as the central point of contact between business units, technical teams, and external partners. They will be responsible for orchestrating workflows across teams, understanding project requirements, and translating them into actionable plans.
This involves liaising with Business Engagement Managers to clarify needs, expectations, and change requests, while ensuring requirements are gathered using Human-Centered Design principles.
The incumbent will define the Minimum Viable Product (MVP), focusing on delivering maximum value early, and will design and implement project governance structures, communication plans, and work plans. They will also coordinate dependencies, both internal and external, to ensure seamless project execution.
Another core aspect of the role involves managing project budgets and resources. The Project Manager will prepare accurate financial estimates, monitor expenditure, and ensure funds are appropriately allocated.
They will track resource utilization and escalate deviations, ensuring projects adhere to WFP’s project management standards and frameworks.
In addition, they will oversee the management of project risks through the organization’s risk register, developing response plans to address potential issues proactively.
The Project Manager will ensure the technical deliverables meet the highest standards of quality, usability, and domain relevance. They will oversee technical documentation, ensure compliance with SDLC and Agile methodologies, and facilitate testing and quality assurance processes.
They will also be responsible for establishing mechanisms for product maintenance, evolution, and full rollout after the MVP is delivered, ensuring solutions remain sustainable and scalable.
