Overview
One Earth is seeking a Social Media Associate to create, publish, and manage engaging climate and nature-focused content across social platforms. This role supports day-to-day social media execution while collaborating with the digital media, communications, and development teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and schedule posts on Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, Threads, and BlueSky.
- Adapt articles, graphics, videos, and campaigns into platform-specific formats.
- Write clear, engaging captions that align with One Earth’s voice.
- Monitor comments, messages, and mentions; respond or flag as needed.
- Foster a positive, informed, and inclusive online community.
- Track relevant climate, conservation, and biodiversity conversations.
- Support content calendars and campaign rollouts.
- Assist with asset organization, tagging, and basic optimization.
- Collaborate with designers, writers, and program staff to ensure accuracy.
- Track social media metrics (engagement, reach, follower growth).
- Identify trends and opportunities for content improvement.
- Support reporting and insights for campaigns.
Requirements
- 2–4 years’ experience managing or supporting social media for a nonprofit, brand, or mission-driven organization.
- Strong writing and editing skills; attention to tone and clarity.
- Familiarity with major social media platforms and scheduling tools (e.g., Sprout Social).
- Basic analytics and performance metrics understanding.
- Passion for climate, biodiversity, sustainability, regenerative agriculture, or environmental justice.
- Experience with simple graphics and short-form video (Canva, Adobe, native tools) is preferred.
- Experience with content calendars or campaigns is preferred.
- Familiarity with accessibility best practices (alt text, captions, inclusive language) is preferred.
- Comfort in front of the camera/mic as a face/voice of One Earth is preferred.
- Experience creating culturally responsive and engaging content is preferred.
