    Job Description

Applications are now open for the AstraZeneca Young Health Programme (YHP) Young Leaders initiative, an opportunity designed to support young changemakers who are working to improve health, wellbeing, and opportunity for young people around the world. Through a series of Impact Fellowships and scholarships to global youth leadership events, this initiative helps emerging leaders strengthen their work, expand their networks, and amplify their impact.

Open to individuals aged 18 to 35, the Young Health Programme recognizes that young people are already driving innovative solutions to complex social and health challenges. The initiative provides a platform to support these leaders by connecting them with global partners such as One Young World and the AFS Youth Assembly, two well-known international gatherings that bring together youth leaders, policymakers, and experts from around the world.

Participants selected through the Young Health Programme will have opportunities to attend these global events through fully supported fellowships and scholarships, where they can exchange ideas, develop leadership skills, and collaborate with other young changemakers working to create healthier communities.

About the AstraZeneca Young Health Programme

The Young Health Programme (YHP) is a global initiative led by AstraZeneca that focuses on empowering young people to take action on issues affecting youth health and wellbeing. The program works with partners around the world to support youth-led initiatives, strengthen leadership skills, and help young advocates bring their ideas to larger platforms.

Through the Young Leaders initiative, the program identifies passionate individuals who are already making a difference in their communities. Whether they are working on health education, youth empowerment, community wellbeing, environmental sustainability, or social innovation, the program seeks to support those whose work contributes to healthier and more resilient societies.

Selected participants become part of a growing network of youth advocates who are collaborating to improve the future of health for young people globally.

    What the Opportunity Offers

Through the Young Health Programme Young Leaders initiative, selected applicants can receive support through several pathways designed to help them grow as leaders and expand the impact of their work.

    Participants may receive:

Scholarships to attend major global leadership events. These include gatherings such as the One Young World Summit or the AFS Youth Assembly, where youth leaders connect with experts, organizations, and policymakers from across the world.

Leadership development opportunities. Fellows and scholars gain access to training, mentoring, and learning opportunities designed to strengthen their leadership skills and strategic thinking.

Global networking opportunities. Participants join an international community of changemakers working on youth health and social impact initiatives.

Platforms to amplify their work. Through partnerships and global events, selected young leaders have opportunities to showcase their initiatives and gain visibility for the issues they care about.

These experiences are designed to help young changemakers expand their reach, collaborate with others, and scale their solutions.

    Why This Opportunity Matters

Young people are increasingly at the forefront of solving some of the world’s most pressing challenges. From improving access to health services to promoting mental wellbeing, environmental sustainability, and social inclusion, youth-led initiatives are shaping the future of communities around the globe.

However, many young leaders lack access to the resources, networks, and platforms that could help them scale their work. Opportunities like the Young Health Programme Fellowships and Scholarships help bridge that gap by connecting youth changemakers with global networks, leadership training, and spaces where their ideas can reach a wider audience.

By investing in youth leadership, programs like this not only support individual changemakers but also help strengthen the global movement toward healthier, more equitable societies.

    Who Should Apply
