    Salary Range (Bay Area / NYC): USD $105,000 – $110,000 per annum
    Salary Range (Other US): USD $95,000 – $105,000 per annum

    About the Role

    The Program Manager (PM) will support the Adaptation and Resilience (A&R) team in building global adaptation as a key philanthropic focus area.

    This role provides programmatic oversight and coherence for the Adaptation & Resilience Fund — a multi-donor pooled philanthropic fund providing grants to low- and middle-income countries.

    The current funding focus addresses extreme heat in urban areas across South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Sub-Saharan Africa.

    The Program Manager is responsible for end-to-end delivery of all aspects of the A&R Fund, including:

    • Grants management and processing
    • Budget oversight and financial coordination
    • Advisory Council management and reporting
    • Development of new thematic funding windows
    • Cross-functional collaboration across the organization

    The successful candidate will join a small, agile, and mission-driven team committed to collaboration, transparency, trust, learning, and equity.

    Key Responsibilities

    Fund Management & Oversight

    • Oversee all aspects of the Adaptation & Resilience Fund, including grantmaking, Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Advisory Committee governance, and strategic window development
    • Manage fund timelines, reporting cycles, and deliverables
    • Coordinate annual reporting to funders

    Grants & Contracts Management

    • Process and manage grants efficiently
    • Develop, track, and manage contracts and agreements
    • Maintain regular communication with grantees
    • Ensure compliance with reporting requirements
    • Monitor grants budgets and internal processes

    Advisory Council & Stakeholder Engagement

    • Support agenda setting and convenings
    • Prepare materials and briefings
    • Liaise with funders, external partners, and internal teams

    Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Work closely with Marketing & Communications, Grants & Finance, and other internal teams
    • Lead medium- to high-resource cross-functional initiatives
    • Ensure smooth delivery of publications, events, and convenings

    Research & Strategy Development

    • Conduct research on adaptation and resilience topics
    • Identify potential grantees and new funding focal areas
    • Track milestones and deliverables across workstreams
    • Develop standards, tools, and knowledge resources for the A&R program

    Communications & Reporting

    • Prepare internal and external communications
    • Develop reporting outputs and maintain relevant systems and databases
    • Support senior leadership with meeting preparation and briefing materials

    Candidate Profile

    Required Qualifications

    • Minimum 7 years of professional experience in a fast-paced environment
    • Demonstrated excellence in project and program management
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
    • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
    • Ability to engage effectively with donors, grantees, partners, and senior leadership

    • Strong analytical, research, and critical thinking skills
    • Experience with project management tools, Microsoft Office, Excel; Salesforce or Fluxx preferred
    • Ability to operate independently in virtual or hybrid environments
    • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
    • Strong problem-solving skills and proactive decision-making ability

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in climate change policy, particularly adaptation
    • Lived or professional experience in the Global South
    • Experience within nonprofit organizations or philanthropic foundations, especially international organizations

    ClimateWorks Foundation offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience, with geographic differential applied based on local labor costs.

    This role is classified as US Flexible. Exceptional candidates may work from the San Francisco office or remotely within the United States. Compensation is adjusted based on geographic location.
