    Job Description

    Overview

    A leading education-focused organization is seeking Zonal Consultants to support state-level education systems and strengthen implementation across designated states. This role involves providing technical assistance to State Universal Basic Education Boards (SUBEBs) and serving as a key link between state-level operations and the central project team.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide technical support to SUBEBs within assigned zones and participate in field work opportunities to enhance project impact.
    • Support the development, validation, and tracking of Basic Education Action Plans (BEAPs) and State Medium-Term Basic Education Strategic Plans (SMTBESPs).
    • Strengthen monitoring and evaluation systems at state and Local Government Education Authority (LGEA) levels.
    • Facilitate the implementation of key education strategies and initiatives.
    • Support the diagnosis and analysis of state-specific education system gaps, bottlenecks, and opportunities.
    • Assist in stakeholder consultations, technical working sessions, and validation meetings to ensure inclusive planning.

    Requirements

    • Undergraduate or Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Education, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in education programme implementation, child development programming, public sector engagement, or education reform initiatives.
    • Familiarity with Nigeria’s basic education system, including SUBEBs and LGEAs, is essential.
    • Experience in capacity building, monitoring and evaluation, and systems strengthening.

    Location

    • Kaduna, Nasarawa, Oyo, Bauchi, Imo, and Akwa Ibom
