    The Rotary Peace Fellowships are now open for the 2027-2028 academic year!

    Title: Rotary Peace Fellowship (Fully Funded Master’s Degree and Professional Certificate Program)
    Location: Various Rotary Peace Centers Worldwide (including universities in Uganda, Turkey, India, and more)
    Application Deadline: 15 May 2026
    Contract Type: Fellowship (Full Scholarship)
    Salary: Fully Funded — covers tuition, accommodation, transportation, and more.

    This prestigious program funds up to 170 fellows worldwide to study peace and development at leading universities.


    Rotary Peace Fellowship Overview

    The Rotary Foundation proudly offers up to 170 fully funded fellowships annually for dedicated leaders around the world committed to peacebuilding and development.

    These fellowships enable experienced peacebuilders to pursue advanced academic training and practical fieldwork, equipping them to become catalysts for peace in their communities and globally.

    Since inception in 2002, the Rotary Peace Centers have trained over 1,800 fellows across more than 140 countries. Many alumni serve in influential roles within governments, NGOs, academia, peacekeeping agencies, and international organizations such as the United Nations and the World Bank.

    This program is designed for individuals with a proven commitment to peace and development, seeking to deepen their expertise and impact.


    What the Fellowship Covers

    The Rotary Peace Fellowship provides comprehensive funding to support fellows throughout their studies:

    • ✅ Tuition and university fees
    • ✅ Housing and meals
    • ✅ Round-trip transportation
    • ✅ Internship and field-study expenses

    The program aims to develop the capacity of peace and development professionals through academic coursework, practical field experience, and global networking opportunities. Fellows will be empowered to lead initiatives that promote peace, resilience, and sustainable development in their regions and beyond.


    Who Should Apply?

    The Rotary Peace Fellowship is tailored for experienced leaders with a strong commitment to community service, peacebuilding, and development. Candidates should have relevant work experience, demonstrate leadership potential, and show a genuine dedication to fostering peace at local, regional, or global levels.

    Program Options

    Candidates can choose between two distinct tracks:

    1. Master’s Degree Programs

    • Duration: 15 to 24 months
    • Focus: Peace and development issues with research-informed teaching
    • Components: Coursework, research, and a 2-3 month field study designed by the fellow
    • Ideal for: Individuals seeking in-depth academic training to advance their careers in peacebuilding

    2. Professional Development Certificate Program

    • Duration: One-year blended learning program
    • Focus: Practical skills for peace promotion and social change initiatives
    • Components: Field studies, social change project design and implementation
    • Ideal for: Working professionals seeking to enhance their impact within their communities and regions

    Eligibility Criteria

    Candidates must meet specific eligibility requirements:

    • Demonstrated work experience in peace and development
    • Commitment to community and international service

    • Leadership potential and a track record of impact
    • For master’s applicants: at least three years between last academic degree and application start date
    • For certificate applicants: work in or with communities in Africa, the Middle East/North Africa, or Asia, or demonstrate a strong interest in these regions

    Note:

    • Current students or those enrolled in academic programs are ineligible to apply.
    • Fellows who have completed the program must wait three years before reapplying.
    • Active Rotary or Rotaract members (unless Rotaract-only) are not eligible.

    Application Timeline & Process

    The application window opens now and closes on 15 May 2026. Applicants are advised to:

    1. Review eligibility and program details via the official resource links.
    2. Research the curriculum and select preferred Rotary Peace Centers.
    3. Engage with local Rotary clubs or districts for mentorship and recommendations (optional but recommended).
    4. Gather all required documents, including resume, recommendations, transcripts, and language test scores if applicable.
    5. Submit the complete application via the official Rotary Fellowship portal.

    Candidates will be notified of their qualification status in November 2026. Selected finalists will then proceed to apply for admission at their designated university.
