Africa Manager – Labor Mobility Partnerships (LaMP)

Labor Mobility Partnerships (LaMP) is a global development organization focused on unlocking large-scale cross-border employment opportunities for workers from low-income countries. The organization works with governments, employers, and implementing partners to design and scale practical labor mobility pathways that connect talent to quality jobs across international markets.

Role Overview

LaMP is seeking to recruit an Africa Manager to lead and expand its portfolio of work across the African continent. This is a highly strategic “builder” role focused not only on managing existing projects but also on creating new programs from the ground up.

The successful candidate will play a central role in identifying opportunities, building partnerships, and converting early-stage ideas into scalable, fundable labor mobility initiatives.

The role operates with significant autonomy on the ground while maintaining close collaboration with the Director of Programs and the wider LaMP global team.

Key Responsibilities

The Africa Manager will be responsible for:

Identifying and developing labor mobility opportunities across Africa, particularly pathways linked to Europe-bound employment corridors
Building and maintaining strategic partnerships with employers, government agencies, recruitment firms, donors, and ecosystem stakeholders
Designing and shaping early-stage concepts into structured, fundable, and high-impact programs
Representing LaMP at regional forums, stakeholder meetings, and donor engagement events
Leading end-to-end program development, including design, launch, and operational coordination
Supporting fundraising efforts, including proposal development and donor engagement
Translating strategic ideas into actionable programs with measurable outcomes

Candidate Profile

LaMP is seeking a professional with strong experience and a proven track record of delivering results within the African development and labor ecosystem. The ideal candidate is expected to have:

Demonstrated experience working across public, private, and development sectors
Strong background in fundraising, proposal development, or donor relations
Proven ability to build and manage high-level stakeholder relationships, including government and industry actors
Strong execution capability with experience turning strategy into operational programs
Excellent communication, negotiation, and partnership-building skills
Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time
Based in Africa (Nairobi preferred)

Compensation

The position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD $65,000 to $95,000, depending on qualifications and location, and is paid in local currency.
