The AI x Media Literacy Dialogue Fund 2026, hosted by DW Akademie and supported by German development cooperation, is a unique opportunity for organizations across Southern Africa to design, test, and implement innovative projects at the intersection of Media and Information Literacy (MIL) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). This initiative empowers organizations to explore how AI is reshaping media consumption, digital well-being, critical thinking, and community engagement—while equipping them with funding, expert coaching, and a regional network of collaborators.
Applications close on 15 June 2026, and selected organizations will receive up to 2,000 Euros in funding, along with structured training, mentorship, and participation in a regional innovation ecosystem.
The Dialogue Fund supports organizations that want to explore how Media and Information Literacy can help communities navigate the rapidly evolving AI landscape. As AI increasingly influences identity, relationships, emotional well-being, and access to information, MIL becomes essential for helping people—especially youth—engage responsibly and critically with digital technologies.
