Overview

The William T. Grant Foundation is accepting applications for the William T. Grant Scholars Program 2026, aimed at supporting early-career researchers focused on improving youth outcomes in the United States.

Eligibility

• Must hold a doctoral degree awarded within the past seven years (or first residency for medical applicants).
• Must be employed in career-ladder research positions (e.g., tenure-track faculty or equivalent).
• Can be based inside or outside the United States if research focuses on U.S. youth outcomes.
• Institutions may nominate one applicant per major division per year.

Benefits

Each selected Scholar receives $425,000 over five years and access to annual retreats and workshops. Scholars may also apply for additional awards to mentor junior researchers of color.

Applications will undergo multi-stage review, with finalists interviewed in New York City in February 2027.
