    • Committee on Aviation Environmental Protection (CAEP)
    • Climate and Environment Committee (CEC)
    • Committee on Joint Support of Air Navigation Services (JSC)

    It also supports specialized conferences, divisional meetings, and technical panels.

    Key Functional Areas of the Bureau

    The ATB is responsible for:

    • Developing and updating Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) in Annexes 9, 16, and 17
    • Formulating air transport policies and guidance
    • Supporting States in implementing CO₂ emissions reduction action plans
    • Managing the ICAO Traveller Identification Programme (TRIP) Strategy
    • Implementing the ICAO Global Aviation Security Plan (GASeP)
    • Conducting the Universal Security Audit Programme (USAP)
    • Maintaining global aviation data, statistics, and forecasts
    • Coordinating with UN bodies, international organizations, and regional aviation entities

    Role Overview: Associate Administrative Officer (P2)

    The Associate Administrative Officer plays a pivotal role in strengthening HR, administrative, and operational functions within the ATB. The position supports the development of a customer‑service‑oriented HR culture that emphasizes innovation, proactivity, and continuous improvement.

    Core Responsibilities Include:

    1. Human Resources Management

    • Implement HR policies and procedures
    • Support staff administration and workforce planning
    • Facilitate recruitment and talent development
    • Promote inclusion, diversity, and gender equality across the Bureau

    2. Administrative Oversight

    • Manage office allocation and administrative workflows
    • Oversee financial budgets for the Bureau
    • Supervise and coach General Service staff
    • Conduct performance evaluations and assign priorities

    3. Operational Coordination

    • Provide administrative support to all ATB sections
    • Collaborate with Deputy Directors, Chiefs, and officers
    • Liaise with other ICAO Bureaux and Regional Offices
    • Ensure smooth coordination with UN bodies and external aviation organizations

    Reporting Structure

    The incumbent reports directly to the Director of the Air Transport Bureau (D/ATB) and works independently to support all ATB entities. The role requires strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills to manage diverse administrative functions.
