    Internship Overview

    World Vision Zambia is inviting applications from recent graduates for an exciting internship opportunity within its Communications Unit. This role is designed for a versatile storyteller with a passion for digital innovation, multimedia content creation, and child well-being.

    The Communications Intern will support the execution of an integrated communications strategy that bridges digital creativity, event support, and media engagement. The internship offers high-level exposure to the development sector while strengthening practical skills in branding, storytelling, and multimedia production.

    Key Responsibilities

    Digital Media Management

    • Manage and grow World Vision Zambia’s social media platforms, including:
      • Facebook
      • X
      • Instagram
      • LinkedIn
    • Develop engaging and audience-focused digital content
    • Monitor trends and social media algorithms to optimise reach and engagement

    Content Creation and Multimedia Production

    • Produce compelling transformational stories for the official website
    • Capture and edit short-form “reels-style” videos
    • Utilize tools such as Adobe Creative Suite to create high-quality visual content
    • Support creative storytelling initiatives aligned with brand standards

    Internal Communications

    • Draft and edit content for the monthly internal newsletter
    • Maintain and organise the internal digital library of impact stories and photographs
    • Ensure consistent messaging across internal communication channels

    External Media Engagement

    • Track daily mentions of World Vision in Zambian media outlets
    • Maintain and update a database of key journalists and influencers
    • Support relationship-building efforts with local media stakeholders

    Education, Skills, and Experience

    Educational Requirements

    • Recent graduate with a Diploma or Degree in:
      • Communications
      • Public Relations
      • Mass Communication
      • Journalism

    Technical Competencies

    • Strong understanding of digital media platforms and social media algorithms
    • Proficiency in content creation tools, particularly Adobe Creative Suite
    • Ability to shoot and edit engaging short-form video content
    • Digitally innovative and adaptable to emerging media trends

    Communication and Personal Attributes

    • Strong writing skills with the ability to adapt tone for:
      • Formal communications
      • Engaging social media storytelling
    • Entry-level experience; prior professional experience not required
    • Demonstrated willingness to learn and grow
    • Effective team player with collaborative mindset
    • No criminal record
    • A mature Christian aligned with the organisation’s faith-based values
