    Job Description

    Overview

    Secure Energy Project is seeking a Communications Director (Digital) to lead digital engagement efforts and build public support for the clean energy transition worldwide.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Design and execute digital communication strategies to promote clean energy policies.
    • Develop and implement digital campaigns, including rapid response communications and social media amplification.
    • Lead content creation efforts for various platforms and manage distribution strategies.
    • Collaborate with internal teams, freelancers, and agencies to produce high-quality content.
    • Provide strategic advice to partners and coalition members on digital communication tactics.
    • Facilitate capacity-building by developing practical tools and training modules.
    • Utilize analytics tools, audience testing, and performance data to refine messaging and optimize content.
    • Manage core communication assets, including website, branding materials, and outreach documents.
    • Explore and apply AI tools to enhance digital campaigns and workflows.

    Requirements

    • Over 5 years in digital communications or media roles, with at least 3 years in strategic leadership positions.
    • Demonstrated success in designing and executing digital campaigns that have shifted public opinion or increased engagement.
    • Strong ability to produce or oversee the development of engaging content, including short-form videos.
    • Deep understanding of social media platforms and their impact on public debates.
    • Experience recruiting and collaborating with creators and influencers.
    • Proficiency in using analytics, polling, and testing tools to measure impact and optimize strategies.
    • Ability to coordinate multiple projects and deliver high-quality content on tight timelines.
    • Comfort working in a fast-moving, resource-limited environment.
    • Willingness and ability to experiment with AI tools.
    • Excellent written and spoken English.
    • Desirable: Experience managing campaigns across multiple regions, background in climate/energy, knowledge of paid media, community engagement, crisis communication, traditional media, organizational branding, and budget management.

    Benefits

    Salary: USD $70,000 – $120,000 depending on location and experience

    Global – Remote (Africa, Americas, Europe)
