Overview
The United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) is seeking three Strategic Engagement Interns for a six-month, full-time, remote internship. This opportunity is for students and recent graduates interested in international development finance, multilateral engagement, and blended finance solutions supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Key Responsibilities
- Support partnership development and multilateral engagement processes.
- Coordinate strategic engagement activities and track resource mobilization progress.
- Conduct research on UN institutional processes and intergovernmental negotiation frameworks.
- Map organizations involved in ocean and climate finance.
- Prepare donor briefings, technical notes, and speaking points.
- Assist in strengthening UNCDF’s strategic initiatives through research and analysis.
- Maintain internal trackers, databases, and work plans.
Requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and planning abilities.
- Proactive problem-solving and results-oriented performance.
- Ability to synthesize complex policy and finance concepts.
- Capacity to work effectively in multicultural and international environments.
- Currently enrolled in a postgraduate degree (Master’s or higher), in the final year of a Bachelor’s program, graduated within the past year, or enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program.
- Relevant fields of study include International Law, Economics or Economic Development, International Relations, Public or Business Administration, Public Policy, or related disciplines.
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of additional UN languages is a plus.
- Must provide own computer equipment, reliable internet access, and a suitable workspace for remote work.
- Proof of health insurance required.
Benefits
A monthly stipend of $1,000 is provided to support basic living expenses.
