Overview
Plan International is seeking a Gender-based Violence and Gender in Emergencies Technical Lead to provide strategic leadership on GBV prevention, response, and gender-transformative approaches in emergency contexts. This senior-level global role aims to shape technical excellence and innovation in humanitarian programming.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead global technical direction on GBV and gender in emergencies.
- Develop high-quality guidance, standards, tools, and learning resources.
- Strengthen gender-transformative approaches across humanitarian programming.
- Support Country Offices in conducting Rapid Gender Analysis.
- Build capacity of humanitarian teams and lead a global Community of Practice.
- Design and deliver training and learning materials.
- Promote continuous improvement in GBV programming quality.
- Cultivate partnerships with humanitarian actors and donors.
- Represent Plan International at global humanitarian fora.
- Influence sector-wide standards and policy discussions.
- Drive resource mobilization for GBV and gender programming.
- Lead research initiatives to strengthen evidence-based GBV programming.
- Promote innovation in emergency response approaches.
- Generate and disseminate learning across the federation.
- Enhance programmatic impact through data-driven improvements.
Requirements
Substantial experience and recognized expertise in GBV and gender equality within humanitarian contexts.
- Significant leadership in GBV programming for children in emergencies.
- Strong knowledge of gender analysis, GBV mitigation, and gender-transformative frameworks.
- Experience developing global guidance and training tools.
- Familiarity with humanitarian coordination systems.
- Proven donor engagement and partnership-building capacity.
- Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills.
- Fluency in English required. French preferred; Spanish or Arabic considered assets.
- Ability to travel frequently, including to high-risk environments.
