    Job Description

    Overview

    The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking an Economic Empowerment Manager in Louisville, Kentucky, to lead program development, implementation, and oversight within the Economic Empowerment department. This role focuses on supporting individuals and communities affected by conflict and disaster in rebuilding their lives through various economic initiatives.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the development, implementation, and oversight of all grants, contracts, and program activities within the Economic Empowerment department.
    • Manage programming related to employment services, Matching Grant programs, financial capability services, workforce development, and small business development initiatives.
    • Ensure program compliance, supervise departmental staff, oversee budgets, and maintain relationships with employers, donors, and community stakeholders.
    • Conduct systematic case file reviews and quality assurance checks, monitor data quality, and support grant proposal development and donor reporting.
    • Build and strengthen internal and external partnerships to support economic mobility, including developing employer relationships and engaging workforce partners.
    • Supervise, train, and develop departmental staff, fostering collaboration and promoting IRC’s core values.
    • Participate in leadership meetings, facilitate information sharing, and contribute to organizational growth strategies.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
    • Minimum of five years of program management experience.
    • Demonstrated experience in staff supervision.
    • Strong background in program development and monitoring & evaluation.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Advanced organizational and analytical abilities.
    • Proven capacity to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
    • Fluency in English.
    • (Preferred) Advanced degree in a related field.
    • (Preferred) Previous fundraising or grant writing experience.
    • (Preferred) Proficiency in a second language.
    • (Preferred) Experience working with diverse, multicultural teams.
