CLEAR Global is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Officer to join its dynamic team in the Products and Innovation department.
Job Title: Quality Officer
Department: Products and Innovation
Location: Remote (Home-based)
Contract Type: 1-year renewable or open-ended
Hours: Part-time, 50% (approx. 20-25 hours per week)
Travel: None required
Reporting To: Quality, Accountability and Learning Coordinator
Remuneration: USD $2,280 – $2,700 (pro-rated for part-time)

This role is pivotal in overseeing and enhancing the quality of interpretation and translation services delivered by the organization, ensuring they align with the organization’s mission to facilitate vital information access for diverse language communities worldwide.
The successful candidate will work remotely, supporting the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality management processes. They will play a key role in monitoring service standards, managing issues resolution, and fostering community development to uphold the highest quality standards in interpretation and translation services.

Key Responsibilities
Quality Management
The core of the role involves supporting the development and implementation of the quality strategy for interpretation and translation services. The Quality Officer will:
- Collaborate with the Quality, Accountability and Learning Coordinator to define and operationalize quality standards aligned with organizational goals.
- Design, document, and refine quality processes, ensuring they are effective and adaptable to evolving needs.
- Act as a primary contact for the Project Management and Product Teams regarding service issues, providing guidance and support to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Analyze feedback and non-compliance issues, document findings, and report on trends to facilitate continuous improvement.
- Monitor and report on quality metrics regularly, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
- Work closely with the Grants and Partnership Teams to assess partner satisfaction and address issues proactively.
- Handle additional quality-related tasks as assigned, contributing to the overall quality assurance framework.
Community Development
Building and maintaining a skilled and motivated community of interpreters and translators is vital to ensuring service excellence. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting in designing community-specific quality management procedures and tools.
- Supporting onboarding, assessment, and ongoing monitoring of community members.
- Developing guidelines, checklists, and training materials to standardize processes and expectations.
- Creating mechanisms for providing constructive feedback to community members and addressing repeated non-compliance.
- Collaborating on training initiatives aimed at building community skills and expertise.
Team Building and Cross-functional Collaboration
Effective teamwork and communication are essential for success. The Quality Officer will:
- Accurately report on quality metrics and ensure timely data submission.
- Work closely with the Programs and Solutions teams to align efforts across different organizational units.
- Contribute actively to organization-wide discussions, sharing insights and supporting a collaborative work environment.
- Perform other tasks as needed, with flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will possess a blend of language expertise, project management skills, and experience in quality assurance within interpretation and translation services. Specific qualifications include:
- Language Skills: Excellent command of English; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
- Educational Background: University degree in linguistics, interpretation, translation, international development, project management, or related fields.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with language industry standards, trends, and technologies, especially related to interpretation and translation quality management.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a relevant role within the language industry or non-profit sector, with prior experience in interpreting and/or translation preferred.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of CAT tools, and practical experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and other language technology products is a plus.
