    Overview

    The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), in partnership with the University of British Columbia (UBC), offers the Blue Grant Scholarship under the BE-Prosper Project for professionals in East Africa. This scholarship aims to build regional expertise in the blue economy, focusing on sustainable ocean management, fisheries, and marine governance.

    Eligibility

    Applicants must meet the following criteria:

    • Age between 25 and 40 years old
    • Educational background: A university degree in relevant fields such as Marine and Fisheries Science, Environmental Economics, Agriculture Economics, Maritime Engineering, Human Geography, Veterinary Science, Community Development, or Ocean Policy.
    • Professional experience in government, private sector, NGOs, or international institutions.
    • Regional eligibility: Must be from South Sudan, Somalia, or Djibouti.
    • Interest in blue economy and sustainable development.
    • Commitment to collaborating with IGAD and UBC.
