Position Overview
The Director of Business Development & Impact plays a crucial role in shaping the growth trajectory of Practice Greenhealth.
This leadership position is responsible for developing and executing innovative sales strategies to expand the organization’s network, increase revenue, and enhance its mission impact. The Director will oversee operational functions, manage the full membership lifecycle, and lead a team dedicated to achieving organizational goals.
This is a full-time, remote position based in the U.S., requiring candidates to reside and be eligible to work within the country. The role offers an opportunity for a seasoned professional to contribute meaningfully to healthcare sustainability efforts while leading a dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Network Expansion
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies aligned with Practice Greenhealth’s organizational objectives.
- Translate organizational priorities into actionable plans, establishing annual growth targets.
- Design and refine member acquisition and retention strategies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Build and maintain high-level relationships with industry influencers, partners, and stakeholders to stay ahead of market trends and opportunities.
- Lead the staffing, training, and performance management of the Growth team to ensure high performance and professional development.
Membership Lifecycle Management
- Oversee the entire member journey—from recruitment to retention and expansion—delivering excellent customer service.
- Manage membership renewal processes, surveys, invoicing, and other membership management tasks in collaboration with finance and other organizational units.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the member base to identify opportunities for growth and increased engagement.
- Oversee the department’s budget, ensuring accurate forecasting and resource allocation.
Revenue and Sales Management
- Utilize market research to adapt sales strategies to evolving industry trends and market conditions.
- Contribute to setting and achieving annual sales targets for various products and services.
- Monitor and analyze sales performance, identifying areas for improvement and course correction.
- Lead high-stakes negotiations and complex sales processes, providing strategic support and guidance.
- Lead revenue modeling and forecasting in partnership with senior leadership to inform organizational planning.
Operational Excellence & Data Management
- Oversee operational functions within the Growth team, including prospecting, forecasting, and client relationship management.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of data in CRM systems such as Pipedrive and Salesforce.
- Develop dashboards and KPIs to monitor the health and impact of the network.
- Prepare regular reports for executive leadership, highlighting performance metrics, risks, and growth opportunities.
Candidate Profile
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: At least 7 years of professional experience in consultative sales, business development, or growth strategy, preferably within network or membership organizations.
- Leadership: Proven success leading teams, managing performance, and mentoring professionals.
- Sales Expertise: Extensive experience in high-stakes, consultative sales involving complex service agreements, with a strong track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
- Strategic Planning: Demonstrated ability to translate organizational strategies into actionable sales plans, using data-driven decision-making.
- Financial Acumen: Skilled in managing departmental budgets, conducting market research, and delivering accurate sales forecasts.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in CRM tools such as Pipedrive or Salesforce; capable of overseeing data integrity and analysis.
- Relationship Building: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to develop partnerships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Healthcare or sustainability sector experience is highly advantageous, particularly understanding hospital financial decision-making and sustainability initiatives.
- Experience managing and mentoring teams to achieve performance and professional development goals.
- Ability to communicate the business case for sustainability to C-suite executives and other senior leaders.
Educational & Professional Qualifications
- Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Management, Marketing, or a related field. Equivalent combined experience and education will be considered.
- Minimum Experience: 5 years of professional experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial capacity.
- Preferred Education: Advanced degrees or specialized training in healthcare, sustainability, or related fields.
- Additional Certifications: Consultative sales training or related certifications are a plus.
