Overview
Farm Radio International (FRI) is seeking a qualified Researcher or Research Team to conduct a study assessing the sustainability, return on investment (ROI), and impact of its Green Leaf (GL) Communication Platforms in Uganda and Ghana. This consultancy will evaluate an innovative agricultural extension model integrating radio and digital technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct qualitative case studies in Uganda and Ghana.
- Analyze sustainability and business model viability, including financial and strategic documents.
- Map digital agricultural extension services in Uganda and Ghana.
- Determine the cost-effectiveness of the GL model compared to other extension approaches.
- Integrate Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI) into research methodology, data analysis, and recommendations.
- Prepare an inception report, case study methodology and tools, ROI methodology and tools, case study publication, ROI report, sustainability and business model report, digital ecosystem mapping report, and a policy-oriented summary publication.
Requirements
Lead Researcher:
- Advanced degree (PhD or MSc) in agricultural economics, development economics, MEL, public policy, or rural development.
- Proven ROI and cost-benefit analysis experience.
- Knowledge of African extension systems.
- Mixed-methods research expertise.
- Experience in Uganda and/or Ghana preferred.
Research Team (if applicable):
- Quantitative analyst with econometrics background.
- Qualitative researcher (FGDs, KIIs, case studies).
- Local research assistants in each country.
Benefits
This is a consultancy with a contract period from April 1, 2026, to August 21, 2026. Fieldwork in Uganda and Ghana is required, but the role is otherwise remote.
Location
Uganda and Ghana (fieldwork required); Remote work is permitted.
