Manaaki New Zealand Scholarships 2027: Fully Funded Postgraduate Study in New Zealand

Applications for the Manaaki New Zealand Scholarships will open on March 1, 2026. Funded by the Government of New Zealand, these fully funded scholarships support applicants from eligible countries to undertake full-time postgraduate studies in 2027.

Scholarship Overview

The Manaaki New Zealand Scholarships provide full financial support for selected international students pursuing postgraduate qualifications in New Zealand.

Priority Sectors

Applicants must align their proposed studies with one of the following priority development areas:

• Climate resilience, science and environment

• Economic resilience and the private sector

• Food security and agriculture

• Governance

• Infrastructure

• Peace, security and justice

• Resilient societies

Programs of study should clearly demonstrate how they contribute to development outcomes in the applicant’s home country.

• Lincoln University

• Massey University

• University of Auckland

• University of Canterbury

• University of Otago

• University of Waikato

• Victoria University of Wellington

• Southern Institute of Technology

• Unitec Institute of Technology

Applicants must apply to eligible programs offered at these institutions.

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must:

• Be from an eligible country

• Apply for full-time postgraduate study (Master’s or PhD level)

• Demonstrate alignment with priority development sectors

• Meet academic and English language requirements

• Intend to return to their home country after completion
