The Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development (APWLD) has opened applications for its South to South Fellowship Programme, inviting women from diverse backgrounds across Asia and the Pacific to apply. The fellowship specifically encourages applications from women belonging to minority and marginalized communities who are affiliated with APWLD member or partner organizations.
This fellowship offers an opportunity for emerging feminist leaders to strengthen their experience in regional organizing, institutional coordination, and women’s rights advocacy. Fellows will work closely with the APWLD Secretariat and its regional membership network to support initiatives that advance women’s human rights, feminist leadership, and Development Justice.
The fellowship may be extended beyond the initial period depending on mutual agreement between the fellow and APWLD.
The South to South Fellowship Programme is designed to strengthen collaboration and leadership among feminist activists and organizations across the Asia-Pacific region. The programme provides participants with an opportunity to engage in institutional work that supports feminist movement-building and cross-border solidarity.
Through this fellowship, participants will:
The selected fellow will work alongside APWLD’s leadership, governance structures, and Secretariat team to support the organization’s mission of building stronger feminist movements and advocating for equitable development.
The selected fellow will serve for a six-month period, working remotely from their home country. During this time, the fellow will contribute to institutional coordination and provide support to APWLD’s leadership and network.

Applicants must also demonstrate their ability to work remotely and commit to the fellowship for the full duration.
Fellows must obtain a written commitment from their recommending organization confirming that they will return to contribute to the organization after completing the fellowship.
The return commitment must be double the duration of the fellowship period. For example:
This requirement ensures that the knowledge and experience gained through the fellowship benefit the fellow’s home organization and local feminist movements.
APWLD will provide a monthly stipend of USD $800 for the duration of the fellowship.
This stipend is intended to support the fellow while they work remotely and contribute to the organization’s regional initiatives.
