CALL FOR APPLICATIONS – ENVIRONMENTAL JOURNALISM FELLOWSHIP
The Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development (CJID), in collaboration with the UNESCO Global Media Defence Fund (GMDF), is inviting applications from qualified and passionate environmental journalists for a prestigious six-month storytelling fellowship.
This fellowship is designed to strengthen the capacity of journalists to produce high-quality, investigative stories that focus on violence against environmental reporters. It aims to promote accountability, amplify underreported issues, and support press freedom by equipping participants with the necessary tools, mentorship, and resources required to deliver impactful journalism.
Selected fellows will receive guidance and support throughout the fellowship period to research, develop, and publish compelling investigative reports that meet international journalism standards. The program also emphasizes ethical storytelling, safety awareness, and effective dissemination strategies to ensure that stories reach wider audiences and drive meaningful change.
This opportunity is ideal for journalists who are committed to environmental reporting, human rights advocacy, and holding power to account through credible and evidence-based storytelling.
