The Delegation of the European Union to Ethiopia has opened a funding opportunity for civil society organisations through the call titled "Supporting CSO role in sustainable and inclusive development and in Global Gateway Investments." This initiative aims to strengthen Ethiopian civil society organisations to contribute to inclusive governance and socio-economic development.
This opportunity is intended for non-profit legal entities such as civil society organisations, NGOs, networks, and associations. The lead applicant must be established in an EU Member State, Ethiopia, or another eligible country, and apply together with at least two co-applicants registered in Ethiopia.
The total indicative budget available is EUR 5,829,000, with grants size fixed at EUR 2,914,500 for both lots. The EU contribution must represent 95% of the total eligible costs.
Applications must be submitted online via PROSPECT. Organisations must register in PADOR and the European Commission’s Participant Register. Applicants must submit their concept notes in English, following the official format.
The deadline for submission of concept notes is 13 May 2026 at 15:30 Brussels time. Additional key dates include information sessions and deadlines for full applications.
