The Canada Postdoctoral Research Award (CPRA) is one of the most prestigious federal research training awards offered in Canada. Jointly administered by CIHR, NSERC, and SSHRC, the program is designed to support the next generation of global innovators, researchers, and creative thinkers. With a strong emphasis on research excellence, training, and career development, the CPRA empowers emerging scholars to advance world‑class research across health, natural sciences and engineering, social sciences, humanities, and interdisciplinary fields.
The CPRA is part of the Canada Research Training Awards Suite (CRTAS)—a national investment in research talent aimed at strengthening Canada’s innovation capacity, research ecosystem, and long‑term prosperity.
