Development Strategist

Position Overview
The Development Strategist will design and implement fundraising strategies to support Textile Exchange’s Climate and Nature Impact activities while contributing to broader organizational funding mechanisms.
This role is ideal for a dynamic fundraising professional passionate about sustainability in the fashion and textile industry.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising Strategy
- Design and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy.
- Secure philanthropic grants, donations, and corporate sponsorships.
- Contribute to the development of long-term funding mechanisms aligned with the organization’s 5-year strategy.
Donor Engagement
- Cultivate and steward relationships with donors and foundations.
- Partner with executive leadership to grow and diversify philanthropic funding.
- Track grant cycles and deliverables using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
Proposal Development & Reporting
- Develop compelling grant proposals and impact reports.
- Monitor grant deliverables and ensure transparency and accountability.
Candidate Profile
- 5–7 years’ experience in fundraising or donor relations.
- Proven track record securing major gifts and grants.
- Strong communication, storytelling, and project management skills.
- Experience with CRM platforms such as Salesforce or HubSpot.

Assurance and Traceability Senior Director
Job Title: Assurance and Traceability Senior Director

Salary Range: USD $160,000 – $200,000
Position Overview
This senior leadership role is accountable for two core pillars of Textile Exchange’s standards system: assurance and digital traceability tools.
The successful candidate will guide the evolution of one of the industry’s largest sustainability standards systems during the transition to the Materials Matter Standard.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Strengthen assurance and traceability models across the standards system.
- Oversee certification body management and monitoring.
- Guide risk management and system integrity.
Digital & Traceability Oversight
- Lead traceability and supply chain data systems.
- Ensure interoperability, scalability, and regulatory alignment.
External Representation
- Represent Textile Exchange with certification bodies, peer standards organizations, and strategic partners.
Candidate Profile
- 10+ years’ experience in sustainability standards and certification schemes.
- Deep expertise in assurance models, chain of custody, and traceability systems.
- Experience leading complex systems in global contexts.
- Strong communication and strategic leadership capability.
Preferred experience includes ISEAL membership initiatives and apparel/textile sector expertise.

Position Overview
This maternity cover role ensures continuity and momentum across Textile Exchange’s cotton and crops engagement work during a period of organizational transition.
The position focuses on maintaining trusted stakeholder relationships and supporting sector-wide progress toward climate-positive and regenerative cotton production.
Key Responsibilities
Stakeholder Engagement
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with cotton schemes and initiatives.
- Represent Textile Exchange at key industry events, including the Organic Cotton Summit.
Team Leadership
- Provide day-to-day leadership to the Cotton team.
- Chair the Cotton Advisory Group and guide governance processes.
Sector Advancement
- Support regenerative outcomes, traceability improvements, and collaborative impact.
- Contribute to round tables, working groups, and cross-fiber engagement initiatives.
Candidate Profile
- 5+ years’ senior-level experience in sustainability, cotton farming, or agriculture.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and team leadership experience.
- Knowledge of cotton production systems and sustainable sourcing practices.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
