Overview

The Re-Earth Initiative Climate Policy Fellowship for Indigenous Youth is a one-year program designed to empower Indigenous youth leaders to participate in international climate negotiations under the UNFCCC, ensuring Indigenous perspectives are represented in climate policymaking.

Key Responsibilities

Engage in global climate governance and policymaking.
Participate in international climate negotiation events, including SB 64 and COP 31.
Develop expertise in selected thematic negotiation tracks (Climate Mitigation, Article 6, Climate Adaptation, Climate Finance).
Participate in virtual training sessions on climate policy analysis, UNFCCC procedures, negotiation literacy, and advocacy strategies.
Conduct policy research and contribute to policy brief development.

Requirements

Ages 18–30
Self-identify as Indigenous
Demonstrated meaningful connection to their community or Nation
Prior engagement in climate justice, Indigenous rights, territorial defense, or policy advocacy
Strong motivation to participate in international climate negotiations
Commitment to community accountability and ethical representation
Ability to collaborate across cultures and regions
