    Internship Overview

    UNEP is recruiting five interns to support various projects and activities under the Consumer Information Programme.

    Retail4Impact Initiative

    Supporting efforts to strengthen product sustainability claims and improve transparency within the retail industry.

    Digitalization for Circular Economy (D4CE)

    Advancing Digital Product Information Systems (DPIS) and digital product passports that enhance circular economy practices.

    EcoAdvance Project

    Supporting ecolabels and certification schemes that help consumers identify environmentally responsible products and services.

    Main Responsibilities

    Interns will work under the supervision of the Associate Programme Management Officer and assist with a broad range of programme activities.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Supporting implementation of consumer information projects
    • Conducting research and data collection on sustainability topics
    • Assisting with programme coordination activities
    • Supporting event planning and management
    • Contributing to webinars and outreach campaigns
    • Drafting articles, presentations, and communication materials
    • Developing and updating website content
    • Assisting with production of the programme’s bi-monthly newsletter
    • Maintaining stakeholder databases and partnership mapping exercises
    • Supporting SDG 12.1 reporting activities
    • Assisting initiatives within the Skills & Lifestyle Area of Excellence

    Skills and Qualifications Required

    The internship is open to students and recent graduates with strong academic backgrounds and an interest in sustainability, communications, and environmental policy.

    Eligible applicants must:

    • Be enrolled in or have completed a graduate degree programme; or
    • Be enrolled in or have completed the final year of a bachelor’s degree programme

    Experience and Technical Skills
